Corporate headshots have a reputation. Stiff and forgettable like a photo where you look like you're thinking about 5pm.
Portraits for Groupon's sales team shot to capture personality first and professionalism second. The result was a photo a new hire could post on LinkedIn and actually get a response to that says capable and human in the same frame and a reason to start a conversation.
Direction and coaching on set to get people out of their heads and into something real.
The photos went up in the office too so new hires saw their team on the wall and felt like part of a community.
It worked well enough that directors and above got the same treatment. If the leadership at the top look like people and not icons it closes the distance between management levels.
